Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work in in Agile/ SCRUM based project structure & environment and collaborate with system architects, design & business analysts, software engineers and stakeholders to understand business/ project requirements.
  • Follow Agile Scrum process and participate in sprint meetings, daily and weekly demo and review meetings
  • Gather software project requirements, data and business requirements from customers, project stakeholders and engineers.
  • Analyze user requirements and functional specifications and convert them into formal Functional specification and Interfacing with client.
  • Work with the project team for designing databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability.
  • Develop the architecture of the application database & strategies at modeling, design and implementation stages to meed business requirements.
  • Design & Produce ER diagrams, Dataflow, function Hierarchy; generate DDL statements to create database entities like tables, views, sequences, functions, synonyms, indexes, triggers, packages and stored procedures.
  • Implement database servers, connections & interfaces between applications and develop load-balancing processes.
  • Create and setup database clusters, backup & recovery processes.
  • Develop Database Triggers and enforce security; create and modify SQL*Loader scripts for migrating flat file data. Develop using advanced SQL features like Inline views, advanced Joins, Decodes, Indexing, Bulk Inserts, Bulk collects and other analytical functions.
  • Develop SQL program to generate the XML files using PL/SQL and automate the process using Unix shell scripts and develop SQL Queries to fetch complex data.
  • Involve in the testing of the database schema against business requirements and raise change requests to the project team.
  • Analyze, debug, troubleshoot and resolve time-critical application issues. Plan and update database software through patches as required.
  • Analyze and update code for optimization and performance fine tuning of the application using Explain Plan, Hints, Indexing and Partitioning of tables.
  • Monitor database performance and provide technical support for critical issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for database architecture, database design, database schemas, data flow & models.
  • Demonstrate database and application technical functionality, operation procedures, performance, security and reliability to the project stakeholders and clients.


Skills Requirement:

  • A bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or Electronics & Communications Engineering or Electrical Engineering or relevant degree in science, technology, management is required.
  • Primary: Java, PHP, Python, J2EE, SQL, PL/SQL, C
  • Secondary: SQL, TSQL, Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Performance Tuning, Control M
  • Databases: MySql, PGSQL, Oracle, SQL, DB2, IBM Datastage and Cloud databases
  • Tools: SQL *Loader, SQL* plus, TOAD, SQL Server, SQL Navigator, SQL Developer, Autosys, Integration Services(SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS), JIRA, SharePoint, WebEx, VI Editor, SSH, Erwin, Forms and Reports.
  • Framework, Markup & Scripting: Unix Shell Scripting, Perl Scripting, XML, XSD, WSDL,
  • Others: Junit, UML, SOAP, RESTful, Log4j, Agile, SDLC, IIS, Apache, Apache Tomcat.
  • OS & Server Tools: Mac, Ubuntu (Linux), Windows XP, Redhat, UNIX, SUN Solaris, HP UX, AIX
